Graduation
Graduation and the surrounding ceremonies are a wonderful way to finish your college career. Use this information to make sure you are able to walk across that stage!

When do I apply for graduation?
- Apply for graduation at least one semester before you plan to graduate.
- Check the Academic Calendar for application deadlines.

How do I apply for graduation?
Undergraduate Students (BBA, BSA)
- Complete the application for graduation form.
- Submit completed forms to the Bloch School Student Services Office. If you turn the application in to the UMKC Registrar's Office it will not be processed.
- Once the completed application is received, the Bloch School Student Services Office will conduct a degree audit. If problems are discovered, you will be contacted via UMKC e-mail, phone or mail with additional information. You will receive a copy of your completed degree audit via mail along with additional graduation information.
Graduate Students (MBA, MPA, MSA)
- Complete the application for graduation form.
- Complete the Program of Study form. Be sure to sign it.
- You can access grade reports for your course information here.
- Submit completed forms to the Bloch School Student Services Office. If you turn the application in to the UMKC Registrar's Office it will not be processed.
- Once the completed application is received, the Bloch School Student Services Office will conduct a degree audit. If problems are discovered, you will be contacted via UMKC e-mail, phone or mail with additional information. How do I order my cap and gown?
- Regalia (cap, gown, hood, etc.) is ordered through the UMKC Bookstore.
- Graduation fairs are held each semester for students to order commencement-related items such as diploma frames, graduation announcements, jewelry, etc. The bookstore will update its Web site frequently, so check back often.

Can I still participate in commencement if…
- …I am not finished with all of my classes?
- YES. You must be within 6 hours of having your degree requirements completed.
- You will need to fill out your application for graduation for the semester in which you will finish your degree (not participate in the ceremony).
- Please write on your application for graduation that you plan to "Walk in May" or "Walk in December" so we know you plan to participate in the ceremony even though you will not be finished with your program until the following semester.

- MAYBE. It depends on how long ago the deadline was.

Latin Honors
- Latin honors are for undergraduate students only.
- If you are receiving Latin honors you will be notified prior to graduation.
- Categories:
- Summa Cum Laude: students who graduate in the top five percent of their class.
- Magna Cum Laude: students who graduate in the next five percent of their class.
- Cum Laude: students who graduate in the next 10 percent of their class.

Honorary Societies
- The Bloch School participates in many honorary societies. If you qualify for membership you will be invited to join in writing.

Caron Gfeller
BSA 2007
I liked that most of my classes were small sizes. I liked that teachers were willing to help students find a way to learn the material--in or outside of class. My friends in accounting and I had study groups together. I enjoyed going to UMKC and I loved the atmosphere of the Bloch School.
