Academic advising is a central part of what the Bloch Student Services office does. It is how we help you stay on track and graduate!

Please remember that UMKC students are responsible for information that relates to their degree programs. This includes not only such things as GPA requirements, but material contained in the graduate/undergraduate catalog from the year the student was admitted to UMKC. Is advising required?

• New students at all levels must be advised before registering for classes.
• Continuing students must meet with an advisor as indicated below.
• You will not be allowed to register for classes if advising is required.

Who advises me?

The following degree programs are advised out of the Student Services Office:

• Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
• Bachelor of Science in Accounting (BSA) 
• Master of Business Administration (MBA) 
• Business Minor (Bus. Minor)

The following degree programs are advised by faculty in that department.

• Master of Public Administration (MPA) 
• Master of Science in Accounting (MSA)

When can I be advised?

The Bloch Student Services office will begin advising after the schedule is released for a given semester. We recommend coming in for advising as soon as the schedule has been released.

Walk in hours:

Monday:			1:00 - 4:00pm
Tuesday:	9:00 - 11:00am	&	1:00 - 4:00pm
Wednesday:	9:00 - 11:00am	&	1:00 - 4:00pm
Thursday:	9:00 - 11:00am

Appointments (please call 816-235-2215 to schedule):

Tuesday	5:00 & 5:30pm
Wednesday	5:00 & 5:30pm
Friday	8:30 - 11:30am

 If you are an MPA or MSA student, please contact your faculty advisor for an advising appointment.
