Registration
When/how do I register for classes?
- Continuing students: be sure to check your UMKC email. You will receive an email from UMKC with a priority registration time. You can also check Pathway (see below) for your registration time.
- New students: You will be able to enroll during open enrollment. See UMKC's Academic Calendar for specific dates.
- Some students are required to be advised prior to enrollment. (Advising requirements are here.)
- There are two ways to register:
- A great place for additional information is UMKC’s Registration Guide.
- More information about Pathway, including interactive tutorials, is here.
Adding Courses
- Click here to download an add/drop slip.
- Students can add classes without signature through the first week of the semester.
- Starting the second week of the semester, the Bloch School requires BOTH an instructor’s and advisor’s signature on an add/drop slip to add the student into a course.
- Courses that are full, but with additional capacity and without a wait list, cannot be added unless BOTH the instructor and an advisor sign a drop/add slip approving an overload.

Dropping Courses
- Click here to download an add/drop slip.
- Students can drop classes without signature through the published deadline to withdraw without assessment.
- After that time, students will be withdrawing with academic assessment. A withdraw passing is noted as a “WP” and has no impact on a student’s grade point average. A withdraw failing, notated “WF,” counts as an “F” in the student’s GPA.
- The Bloch School requires BOTH an instructor’s and an advisor’s signature on an add/drop slip with either notation (‘WP’ or ‘WF’) before the Registration office will process the drop.
- Check the academic calendar for refund information and deadlines.
- Before dropping courses, students may need to seek academic advising or discuss their plans with financial aid or scholarship representatives.
- If you're withdrawing from all your courses, a Total Withdrawal Form is required.

Note: These policies apply to students in the Bloch School. They may vary slightly from general University policy and in some cases can be superseded by University policy.
