Freshman AdmissionFirst time college students planning to pursue a business or accounting major are eligible for direct admission to the Bloch School as a pre-business or pre-accounting student. Students must meet general admissions requirements for the University to be admissible to the Bloch School as a freshman. Freshman and sophomore Bloch School students will be required to maintain a 2.0 University of Missouri (UM) grade point average (GPA). Students will be required to have a UM and cumulative GPA of 2.50 at the end of their sophomore year to enter the junior/senior portion of the program. Once in the junior/senior program, students must maintain 2.25 UM, cumulative and in-major GPAs. (Your cumulative GPA includes all attempts at all coursework; however, up to 15 credit hours of repeated courses can be excluded.) Important note: In order to be given financial aid/scholarships, you must be admitted to UMKC as a degree-seeking student. Apply early to be considered for the best possible financial aid package. You are encouraged to apply by the priority deadlines, but we do offer rolling admissions. However, if your completed application is not received by a semester's priority deadline we cannot guarantee admission for that semester. Current UMKC students—how to become a Bloch studentAre you interested in changing your major to either business or accounting? If you have completed, or are in the process of completing, the 60 hours of required pre-business coursework needed to apply to the Bloch School, apply for admission one semester prior to enrollment using the Bloch School transfer request (.pdf). Students will be notified by mail of their admissions decision.

SpotlightMichelle Schmidt It's almost impossible to walk around that building or the lounge area and not run into someone from one of your classes. The classes are smaller, which makes the school close-knit and you really know your classmates. It’s a friendly and social environment with great camaraderie.
