Prospective Students
WELCOME TO THE HENRY W. BLOCH SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT

Dean Teng-Kee Tan
READ the Bloch School of Management's Strategic Plan.
Imagine a place where students are engaged in active learning in and outside the classroom. Imagine a place where faculty are engaged in creating new knowledge and ideas through significant research, and connecting with the community through executive education programs, consulting activities, and service on boards and other venues.
Imagine a place where entrepreneurship and innovation is not just a class, it is a way of thinking across all disciplines. Imagine a place where the marriage of for-profit business education and non-profit public administration education give students a cross-platform edge not found anywhere else.
Imagine a place where the faculty and staff form a focused team that takes very seriously a promise to build a nationally preeminent school of management, committed to developing purposeful, entrepreneurial and innovative leaders to meet changing global demands. Imagine a place where we are not just educating, but transforming talent for Kansas City and beyond.
Now stop imagining and make it your reality: All it takes is a visit to the Henry W. Bloch School of Management.
Already the Bloch School has been recognized for excellence in several key areas: The Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation was ranked among the top 25 graduate entrepreneurship programs in the nation by Princeton Review and among the top 26 undergraduate model programs by Entrepreneur Education; The Master of Public Affairs' nonprofit management concentration is ranked among the top 25 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report; The Bloch Executive MBA was ranked No. 1 for career impact among U.S. public universities by Financial Times.
As we prepare our students to meet 21st Century challenges, we embark on a journey to excellence that will ensure the future of our students, the School, UMKC and the Kansas City region.
Welcome to the Bloch Web site, where I hope you find answers to your questions. Please feel free to contact me with questions or comments at umkcbloch@umkc.edu or peglere@umkc.edu.

Sofya Galich
BBA 2007
The Bloch School offered me a chance to get involved and become a part of the community. As a freshman, the small class sizes allowed me to make friends and work with them in other classes, to get to know and build connections with professors, and become involved directly with the school through clubs and organizations.
